The most important guideline to follow is the purpose, which is then followed by three lists: what does not qualify for CE under any circumstances; what may qualify for CE depending upon certain limitations; and what will always qualify for CE.
All reported Continuing Education hours must fulfill this purpose:
THE PURPOSE of obtaining Continuing Education (CE) hours is to improve a volunteer’s knowledge and skill base for performing work as a community educator in horticulture and environmental stewardship for home gardeners (page 5)
Qualify for CE:
The following are approved for CE without reporting limitations if they meet the above purpose and are not specifically excluded or limited elsewhere above:

- Horticultural courses, classes, study groups, lectures, workshops, and other opportunities for MGs presented or approved by Washington State MG programs and/or their Foundations. For Snohomish County, examples include Advanced NYC Training, Advanced MG Training, the Growing Groceries Series, the Foundation’s Winter Lecture Series, the Study Groups, and other such opportunities announced in the Coordinator’s Update and/or specifically approved by the MG Coordinator.
