About Us

The Sustainable Gardening Winter Speaker Series has been offered as a fund raiser and educational opportunity to gardeners in the Snohomish County area since 2004. Originally held at the WSU Extension Office, the lectures outgrew the available space and moved to the Mukilteo Presbyterian Church Social Hall in 2009. After a couple of years being held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood, the program returned to Mukilteo in 2020. With the serious Covid virus situation, the series went on-line from the 2020-2022 seasons. We are delighted to resume in-person sessions at the beautiful Historic Everett Theater starting with the 2023 season.
The Northwest is blessed with a rich assortment of talented garden writers, authors, celebrities and knowledgeable individuals who are happy to share their experiences with our garden community.
Funds raised through this lecture series benefit the Snohomish County Master Gardener Foundation. This Foundation pays for Master Gardener outreach and educational programs in our county, including three demonstration gardens, community 'Ask Me' clinics, speakers for youth and adult audiences, community garden grants and more. For more information about the Snohomish County Master Gardener Foundation, visit the Foundation web site at www.snomgf.org.
